In a moment that will be remembered as one of the most explosive debuts in WWE history, Nigerian-born superstar Oba Femi (real name Isaac Odugbesan) shocked the wrestling world by defeating 10-time WWE Champion Brock Lesnar in under five minutes on Night 2 of WrestleMania 42 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

The highly anticipated matchup, which opened Night 2 of the "Show of Shows," saw the 6'6", 310-pound "The Ruler" from Lagos dominate "The Beast Incarnate." Femi withstood early shoulder blocks from Lesnar, then unleashed his signature power with a massive chokeslam followed by his devastating Fall From Grace sitout powerbomb to secure the pinfall victory.

Following the match, an emotional Brock Lesnar removed his gloves and boots, leaving them in the center of the ring before walking out fueling widespread speculation that the 20-plus-year veteran may have competed in his final WWE match.

Oba Femi, a former track and field star and shot putter who hails from Lagos, Nigeria, has risen meteorically through WWE’s ranks. After dominating NXT where he became the youngest North American Champion and won the 2024 Men’s Iron Survivor Challenge Femi made his main roster debut at the 2026 Royal Rumble. His WrestleMania 42 performance instantly positions him as one of WWE’s brightest new stars and a potential future face of the company.

“This victory is not just for me it’s for every young wrestler in Nigeria and across Africa who dreams of conquering the world stage,” said Oba Femi. “Brock Lesnar is a legend, and sharing the ring with him on my WrestleMania debut was an honor. But The Ruler has arrived, and this is only the beginning.”

The match has been hailed as a symbolic passing of the torch, with Femi’s dominant performance earning praise from fans, analysts, and fellow WWE Superstars. Social media erupted with celebrations from Nigerian wrestling fans and the global WWE Universe, trending under hashtags like #ObaFemi, #TheRuler, and #WrestleMania42.

WWE officials have not yet commented on Lesnar’s status, but the moment has already been called one of the most memorable torch-passing sequences in WrestleMania history.
