The Management of the University of Jos (UNIJOS) wishes to inform all students that the first semester examinations for the 2025/2026 academic session will resume on Monday, April 13, 2026.
Following a thorough review of the prevailing security situation on campus and its environs, the University Management has concluded that conditions are now conducive for the safe and uninterrupted conduct of examinations.
Adequate security arrangements have been put in place in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, and other relevant security agencies to guarantee the safety of all students, staff, and examination materials.
“Management is fully committed to the welfare and safety of our students. We have strengthened security presence, installed additional surveillance, and established rapid-response protocols across all campuses and hostels,” said Professor Ishaya Tanko, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos. “We urge every student to approach the examinations with confidence, knowing that their safety is our top priority. We also call on students to remain law-abiding, avoid any form of malpractice, and cooperate fully with invigilators and security personnel.”
Students are reminded to adhere strictly to the following guidelines: Arrive at examination venues at least 30 minutes before the start of each paper. Come with valid student identity cards and examination materials only.
Avoid bringing bags, mobile phones, or any unauthorised electronic devices into examination halls. Report any suspicious activity immediately to the nearest security personnel or examination officer.
The University Management appeals to parents and guardians to support their wards with the necessary encouragement and to ensure they return to campus on time for the examinations.
Further details on the examination timetable and seating arrangements will be communicated through the University website, official student portals, and departmental notice boards in the coming days.
The University of Jos remains committed to academic excellence and the safety of its community.
