The Defence Headquarters has explicitly acknowledged the recent kidnapping incident reported within Oyo State, declaring that the military high command views any threat to civilian peace as an intolerable affront to national sovereignty

The Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), General Olufemi Olatunbosun Oluyede, has extended his heartfelt sympathy and solidarity to the affected families, the government, and the good people of Oyo State. The CDS reaffirmed that the military remains unyielding in its core mission to protect the lives and property of every citizen.

In immediate response to the incident, the CDS directed a comprehensive security reinforcement across the general area to hunt down the perpetrators. The military has already deployed advanced aerial surveillance assets and mobilized specialized ground forces to dominate the terrain

These operations are being executed in close coordination with state authorities and sister security agencies to ensure an airtight security grid that prevents criminal escape.

Troops will maintain a relentless, high-tempo posture and will not rest until the perpetrators are brought to account and the region’s security is completely restored
