Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde, has approved the appointment of Abayomi Fagbenro as the new Special Adviser on Security and Arowosaye Adeyemi as the Board Chairman of the Pacesetter Mineral Development Company.
The appointments, contained in separate letters signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Segun Ogunwuyi, on Monday, May 11, 2026, take immediate effect.
Abayomi Fagbenro brings extensive experience in defence and information systems. He previously worked at the Department of Defence, Army Network Enterprise Centre, Fort Belvoir, Virginia, United States, from October 2007 to August 2012. He received military training at Great Lakes, Illinois, Chicago, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Systems from Strayer University, having also attended East Coast Polytechnic Institute.
Arowosaye Adeyemi, a graduate of Political Science from the University of Abuja, has a strong background in local government administration. He previously served as both Caretaker Committee Chairman and Executive Chairman of Oyo East Local Government Area.
In a statement congratulating the appointees, Governor Makinde described the appointments as a call to service and urged them to bring their expertise to bear in strengthening security and advancing the state's mineral resources sector for the benefit of the people of Oyo State.
These strategic appointments underscore Governor Makinde's commitment to enhancing security architecture and harnessing the state's mineral potential as part of his administration's development agenda.
