Beneficiaries of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU), Igbariam campus, have formally endorsed President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office and donated the sum of ₦10,735,500 towards the purchase of his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms for the 2027 presidential election.
The donation and endorsement, coordinated by the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) Joint Campus Council in Anambra State, were presented during a special event held on Friday at the university.
The students described the gesture as a mark of appreciation for the Tinubu administration’s transformative educational reforms, particularly the NELFUND initiative, which has significantly improved access to higher education and reduced financial burdens on Nigerian students and their families.
Speaking at the event, the Chairman of NANS Joint Campus Council in Anambra State, Comrade Ifeanyichukwu Chukwuemeka, stated: “We, the beneficiaries of the NELFUND scheme, are collectively endorsing President Bola Tinubu for a second term in office.
This is in recognition of the transformative impact of NELFUND on access to higher education and the alleviation of financial burdens for Nigerian students.
We are donating the sum of ₦10,735,500 to support the purchase of the expression of interest form for him.
This gesture is a symbolic expression of gratitude for the President’s bold educational reforms, youth-oriented policies, and commitment to expanding access to tertiary education opportunities across the nation.”
The students also commended Anambra State Governor, Prof. Chukwuma Soludo, for his support for students and efforts to improve educational standards in the state.
They extended appreciation to prominent youth mobilizers, including businessman Obinna Iyiegbu (Obi Cubana), South-East Coordinator of the City Boys Movement; State Women Leader, Adaora Soludo; and State Coordinator, Nonso Ozoemena, for their contributions to youth empowerment and development in the region.
Dignitaries at the event included former Special Assistant to Governor Soludo on Student Matters, Okoye Mathew, and several Student Union Government presidents.
This grassroots initiative underscores growing student support for President Tinubu’s re-election, driven by tangible impacts of his administration’s policies on education and youth development.
