Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, National Leader and Founder of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has confidently declared that no one is more qualified than him to contest for the presidency of Nigeria in the 2027 general elections.
In a recent statement, the former Governor of Bayelsa State and veteran lawmaker emphasized his extensive experience in governance, legislation, and national politics as key credentials that position him strongly for the nation’s highest office.
“No one is more qualified than me to run for president,” Senator Dickson asserted. “I could have run for president before now, and I possess the leadership capacity, vision, and track record needed to deliver the change Nigerians desire.”
Senator Dickson highlighted his achievements as Governor of Bayelsa State, where he implemented significant infrastructural, educational, and economic reforms, as well as his contributions in the Senate. He reiterated that the NDC provides a credible platform for capable leaders committed to good governance, economic revitalization, and national unity.
The senator noted that while the NDC welcomes distinguished politicians, the party’s strength lies in its solid structures and vision, built over years of strategic engagement, rather than depending on any single individual.
“We are building a formidable opposition that will offer Nigerians a real alternative in 2027,” he said. “Leadership is about competence, integrity, and proven capacity qualities I bring to the table in full measure.”
Senator Dickson called on party members and supporters to remain united and focused on the bigger goal of rescuing Nigeria from poor governance.
The NDC continues to expand its influence across the country, positioning itself as a major political force ahead of the next general elections.
