President Donald J. Trump will deliver keynote remarks tonight at Mount Rushmore National Memorial as part of the nationwide America 250 celebrations honoring the United States’ 250th anniversary of independence.
The patriotic event, hosted by Freedom 250 in partnership with the State of South Dakota and the National Park Service, will feature military tributes, performances, and a spectacular fireworks display beneath the iconic carvings of Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. President Trump’s appearance underscores a celebration of American heritage, resilience, and the nation’s enduring promise.
“President Trump will lead the nation in a historic celebration beneath one of America’s most iconic landmarks,” said Keith Krach, chairman of Freedom 250. The evening program kicks off a weekend of commemorations leading into the official 250th anniversary on July 4.
This marks a significant return for fireworks at Mount Rushmore, the first in several years, drawing thousands to the Black Hills for this rare national milestone. The celebration includes flyovers, patriotic music, and special programming to honor the country’s founding principles and future aspirations.
Mount Rushmore will remain open to the public on July 4 with additional Independence Day events, including historical reenactments, cultural performances, and more fireworks-free programming.
