Minister of Works, Senator David Umahi, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s strategic use of road infrastructure projects as a key tool in the fight against insecurity across Nigeria.

Speaking at the flag-off ceremony for the rehabilitation of critical roads in Borno State, including the Bama-Banki Road (49.15 km) and the Dikwa-Gamboru-Ngala Road (49.55 km), Umahi emphasized that these initiatives are integral to President Tinubu’s broader Renewed Hope Agenda. The projects, valued at approximately N137 billion, aim to enhance connectivity, boost economic activities, and significantly improve military operations in the North-East region.

“These road infrastructure projects are part of the larger programme of President Tinubu in fighting insecurity,” Umahi stated. “By rehabilitating and constructing strategic highways, we are not only reconnecting communities and stimulating trade and agriculture but also providing better access for security forces to combat insurgency effectively.”

The minister highlighted that the use of durable reinforced concrete technology ensures longevity and resilience, aligning with the administration’s commitment to legacy projects that transform Nigeria’s transport network. These efforts form part of four major legacy corridors spanning thousands of kilometers nationwide, designed to link all geopolitical zones and foster national integration.

President Tinubu’s administration continues to prioritize infrastructure as a cornerstone of economic revival and security enhancement, with several projects already underway or flagged off in different parts of the country.
