In a bold call for modernization, Nigeria’s Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) has urged the nation’s justice system to fully embrace technological innovation as a cornerstone for reform, transparency, and efficiency.
Speaking at the National Legal Innovation Forum held in Abuja, the AGF emphasized that the future of justice in Nigeria hinges on the strategic integration of digital tools and platforms. “We cannot continue to operate a 21st-century society with a 20th-century justice infrastructure,” the AGF stated. “Technology is no longer optional—it is essential to ensure timely, fair, and accessible justice for all.”
The AGF’s remarks signal a transformative shift in Nigeria’s legal ecosystem, aligning with global trends in legal technology. “Justice delayed is justice denied,” the AGF concluded. “But with technology, justice can be delivered swiftly, securely, and with greater accountability.”
