In a decisive and coordinated security operation, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has successfully dismantled a notorious bandits’ enclave at Pauwa Hill in Kankara Local Government Area, Katsina State. The precision airstrike, conducted between 6:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., led to the rescue of 76 kidnapped victims, including women and children, who had been held captive by the criminal gang led by the infamous bandit kingpin, Babaro.
Tragically, one child lost their life during the ordeal, underscoring the brutal conditions under which these innocent civilians were held.
This operation marks a significant breakthrough in the ongoing manhunt for Babaro and his network, who were responsible for the recent deadly attack on Gidan Mantau in Malumfashi Local Government Area, where dozens of lives were lost.
The Katsina State Government commends the bravery and professionalism of the Nigerian Air Force, the Nigerian Army, and all security agencies involved in the operation. Their unwavering commitment continues to reclaim communities from the grip of terror and restore peace across the region.
“We reaffirm our full support through logistics, intelligence-sharing, and community engagement,” said Dr. Nasir Mu’azu, Hon. Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs. “With the courage of our forces and the resilience of our people, Katsina will overcome these enemies of peace and achieve lasting stability.”
