The Presidency Guards Brigade has emerged victorious in the prestigious 2025 National Combat Competition, reaffirming its elite status within the Nigerian Armed Forces and showcasing its unwavering commitment to excellence, discipline, and tactical superiority.










Held over a rigorous two-week period at the Nigerian Army Training Grounds in Jaji, Kaduna State, the competition brought together top military formations from across the country to test their operational readiness, physical endurance, and strategic capabilities. The Presidency Guards Brigade distinguished itself across all categories, including marksmanship, fieldcraft, obstacle navigation, and tactical maneuvers.










Brigadier General Ibrahim Sani, Commander of the Guards Brigade, expressed pride in his troops’ performance: “This victory is not just a testament to our training and professionalism—it reflects the spirit of service and sacrifice that defines the Guards Brigade. We dedicate this win to the Commander-in-Chief and to all Nigerians who rely on us to safeguard the nation's leadership and institutions.”










The competition, organized annually by the Nigerian Army Headquarters, serves as a benchmark for combat preparedness and fosters camaraderie and healthy rivalry among formations. This year’s edition featured over 15 brigades and battalions, each vying for top honors in a series of grueling challenges designed to simulate real-world combat scenarios.











Major General Adewale Olatunji, Chief of Training and Operations, commended the Brigade’s performance: “The Guards Brigade has set a new standard. Their precision, resilience, and tactical brilliance were unmatched. This win will inspire other formations to raise their game.”
