Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to safeguarding the lives and property of all residents, declaring that Kwara State will never serve as a sanctuary for bandits or criminal elements.

Speaking during a high-level security briefing held at the Government House in Ilorin, the Governor emphasized that the state government is working closely with federal security agencies to fortify surveillance, intelligence gathering, and rapid response capabilities across all 16 local government areas.

“Let me be clear: Kwara will not be a safe haven for bandits,” Governor AbdulRazaq stated. “We are investing in security infrastructure, empowering community policing, and ensuring that our law enforcement agencies have the resources they need to protect our people.”

The Governor’s remarks come amid rising concerns over banditry and cross-border criminal activities in parts of Nigeria. He assured citizens that proactive measures are being taken to prevent any spillover of insecurity into Kwara, including the deployment of advanced monitoring systems and increased patrols along vulnerable corridors.

In addition to security efforts, the administration is also engaging traditional rulers, local vigilante groups, and civil society organizations to foster community vigilance and early warning systems.

Governor AbdulRazaq called on residents to remain alert and report suspicious activities, reiterating that security is a shared responsibility. He also warned that anyone found aiding or abetting criminal groups will face the full weight of the law.
