In a major breakthrough in the fight against terrorism, the Nigerian Army has successfully rescued 86 kidnapped victims and arrested 29 suspected terrorist logistics suppliers during coordinated operations across Borno State.

The operations, conducted under Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), were led by troops of the 135 Special Forces Battalion under Sector 2, who encountered Boko Haram and ISWAP insurgents on November 9 near Dutse Kura, along the Buratai–Kamuya Road. Acting on intelligence reports of abductions in the area, the troops engaged the terrorists in combat, pursued them toward Mangari, and overpowered them in a follow-up encounter.

“The troops thwarted the attack and forced the insurgents to flee in disarray,” said Lt.-Col. Sani Uba, Media Information Officer for OPHK. “A search of the area led to the destruction of 11 makeshift terrorist structures and the rescue of 86 kidnapped victims, including men, women, and children.”

The 29 arrested suspects are believed to be part of a network supplying fuel, medical items, and food to terrorist camps. They were apprehended in the Mangana agricultural hub in Biu Local Government Area and are currently undergoing interrogation.

This operation marks a significant victory in Nigeria’s ongoing counter-terrorism efforts and demonstrates the effectiveness of intelligence-led military action. Authorities have reiterated their commitment to restoring peace and security in the North-East region.
