Senator Ned Nwoko, representing Delta North Senatorial District, has issued a strong statement condemning what he describes as a “coordinated campaign of blackmail” orchestrated by long-standing adversaries who are exploiting the personal challenges involving his wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels.

In a press release from the Communication and Technical Action Team of his office, Senator Nwoko alleged that a “syndicate of pull-down-Ned” operatives is using Regina’s current vulnerability to smear his reputation both locally and internationally. He emphasized that the situation is being manipulated to criminalize him in the eyes of the public and global observers.

“This is not just about my family. It is a calculated attempt to destroy my name and derail the progress we’ve made in public service and community development,” Nwoko stated.

The Senator also addressed rumors circulating on social media and in some media outlets regarding land acquisition in his hometown. He clarified that the land in question was legally allocated to him for the establishment of the University of Sports — a project that is already operational and serving the community.

“The allegations of land grabbing are false and unfortunate. I made a genuine offer of payment for the land, and the university stands today as a testament to our commitment to education and youth development,” he added.

Nwoko expressed disappointment that individuals such as Omoyele Sowore and others, whom he claims have targeted him for years, are now leveraging his wife’s condition to intensify their attacks. He reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, public service, and the well-being of his family.

The Senator concluded by urging the public and media to approach the matter with sensitivity and discernment, emphasizing that personal family matters should not be weaponized for political or personal gain.
