The Israeli military announced today that it carried out strikes in southern Lebanon resulting in the deaths of two Hezbollah members. According to the official statement, the operations took place on Tuesday in the towns of Bint Jbeil and Blida, areas where Hezbollah has maintained a presence despite ongoing ceasefire arrangements.

The military reported that one of the individuals targeted in Bint Jbeil was involved in efforts to rebuild Hezbollah’s military infrastructure, which had been weakened during recent hostilities. The second individual, killed in Blida, was said to have been gathering intelligence on Israeli troop movements.

The announcement comes amid heightened tensions along the Israel–Lebanon border, where repeated exchanges of fire have occurred despite international calls for restraint. The Israeli Defense Forces emphasized that the strikes were part of ongoing measures to neutralize threats and prevent further escalation.

Lebanese authorities have yet to issue a formal response to the incident. However, the strikes follow reports of casualties from other recent Israeli operations in southern Lebanon, including an attack on the Ain al-Hilweh refugee camp earlier this week.

The Israeli military reiterated its position that it will continue to act against any perceived threats from Hezbollah and other armed groups operating in Lebanon.
