President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will today depart Abuja for Johannesburg, South Africa, and Luanda, Angola, to attend two major international gatherings: the 20th G20 Leaders’ Summit and the African Union European Union (AU–EU) Summit.
The G20 Summit, hosted by South Africa under the chairmanship of President Cyril Ramaphosa, will convene leaders of the world’s largest economies alongside representatives of the African Union, European Union, and global financial institutions. Discussions will center on pressing global challenges including climate change, equitable development, and the future of work.
Following the G20 Summit, President Tinubu will proceed to Angola for the AU–EU Summit, where African and European leaders will engage in strengthening cooperation in trade, investment, security, and sustainable development.
President Tinubu is expected to hold bilateral meetings with fellow heads of state and leaders of international organizations during the visit. His participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to shaping global and continental policy discussions and advancing the nation’s strategic interests.
