The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) has strongly condemned the recent killings at a church in Kwara State, describing the incident as an act of genocide against innocent worshippers.
In a statement issued by its leadership, the PFN expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives and called the attack a deliberate attempt to silence the Christian community through violence and intimidation. The fellowship emphasized that such acts are not only crimes against humanity but also direct assaults on the fundamental right to freedom of worship.
The PFN urged security agencies to intensify efforts in apprehending the perpetrators and ensuring justice is served. It further called on both federal and state governments to prioritize the protection of religious institutions and communities, stressing that places of worship must remain sanctuaries of peace and safety.
The fellowship also appealed to Nigerians across all faiths to unite against violence and resist attempts to divide the nation along religious lines. According to the PFN, the resilience of the Nigerian people lies in their ability to stand together in defense of justice, peace, and human dignity.
While offering prayers and condolences to the families of the victims, the PFN reaffirmed its commitment to advocating for peace and justice, insisting that the Kwara church killings must be recognized as a grave violation of human rights and treated with the urgency it deserves.
