The South-West chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has commended Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State for his pivotal role in stabilizing and strengthening the party, describing his efforts as instrumental in “saving the party” in the region.

In a statement released on Monday, the party’s South-West leadership also congratulated newly elected PDP officers in the zone, praising their commitment to upholding party values, promoting unity, and fostering grassroots engagement.

“We salute Governor Makinde for his leadership and unwavering dedication to the PDP. His proactive interventions have helped steer the party through challenging times, ensuring cohesion and renewed focus across the South-West,” the statement read.

The chapter expressed optimism that the newly elected officers would build on this momentum to enhance party operations, strengthen democratic processes, and engage citizens more effectively at all levels.

“We congratulate all newly elected officers and urge them to continue working tirelessly to promote the PDP’s ideals. Their leadership is crucial for the party’s growth, success, and ability to serve the people,” the statement added.
