The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has successfully apprehended a long-wanted drug kingpin, Frank Chijioke Ibemesi, alias Chisco Bee, in a major operation that led to the recovery of a massive quantity of illicit drugs and foreign currency in Lagos.
In a coordinated raid executed by the NDLEA’s Special Operations Unit after weeks of intelligence gathering and surveillance, the 42-year-old Ibemesi who operated under the guise of a businessman and hotelier was arrested in the early hours of Saturday, November 15, 2025, at his Daisy Garden Hotel located at 66-68 Agbeke Street, Ago Palace Way, Isolo, Lagos.
Following his arrest, NDLEA operatives proceeded to his warehouse at 7 Pius Ezeobi Street, also in Isolo, where they uncovered 42 jumbo bags and four cartons of “Loud,” a potent strain of cannabis, weighing a staggering 1,762.8 kilograms. In addition to the drugs, the agency seized $11,600 USD, £2,000 British Pounds, €2,200 Euros, and C$50 Canadian Dollars, all in cash.
NDLEA’s Director of Media & Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, confirmed the arrest and praised the agency’s operatives for their diligence and precision. “This operation underscores our commitment to dismantling drug trafficking networks and bringing perpetrators to justice,” Babafemi stated.
Ibemesi, the MD/CEO of Franc CJ Ibemesi Nig Ltd, had been on the NDLEA’s watchlist for years, using his business ventures as a front for large-scale drug distribution. His arrest marks a significant milestone in the agency’s ongoing war against narcotics and organized crime.
The NDLEA has reiterated its resolve to intensify surveillance and intelligence-led operations across the country, warning that no criminal enterprise will be spared regardless of its sophistication or cover.
