The Republic of Turkey will convene a high-level summit of foreign ministers from key Muslim-majority nations on Monday in Istanbul, as part of a coordinated diplomatic initiative to address the ongoing crisis in Gaza. The summit will focus on post-conflict governance, humanitarian aid, and regional security following the October 10 ceasefire brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump.

Turkey’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that representatives from Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Pakistan, and Indonesia will attend the meeting. The summit is expected to produce a unified stance on Gaza’s future and reinforce calls for international accountability regarding recent military actions in the region.

President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan’s administration has positioned Turkey as a leading voice in opposition to Israel’s military operations in Gaza. Turkish officials have accused Israel of violating the ceasefire agreement through continued airstrikes and have called for stronger global measures to prevent further escalation.

Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that Muslim nations must act in unison to counter what he described as Israel’s expansionist policies. He emphasized that the summit will explore mechanisms to support Palestinian governance and prevent forced displacement of civilians. Fidan also reiterated Turkey’s commitment to humanitarian aid, noting that Turkish relief convoys have been mobilized to assist Gaza’s population.

The October ceasefire marked a temporary halt to a two-year-long conflict between Israel and Hamas. However, recent reports of renewed hostilities have raised concerns about the truce’s durability. Turkey has warned that failure to stabilize Gaza could lead to a wider regional crisis.

This summit follows consultations held by President Trump with several Muslim leaders on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in September. While the U.S. administration has expressed support for the ceasefire, tensions remain over the long-term political status of Gaza and the role of international actors in its reconstruction.
