The Nigerian Air Force (NAF), as part of the Armed Forces of Nigeria, today confirmed the successful execution of precision airstrikes targeting key bandit enclaves in Zamfara State. These operations, conducted on December 28, 2025, were aimed at degrading the operational capabilities of criminal elements and restoring security in the North-West region.

The airstrikes focused on two primary locations in Tsafe Local Government Area: Turba Hill, a confirmed bandit hideout, and Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp, a notorious hub for manufacturing improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and coordinating attacks along the Dan Sadau–Magami axis.afbf60 Intelligence reports indicated significant bandit activity at these sites, prompting swift and targeted action under Operation FANSAN YAMMA.

At Turba Hill, NAF assets delivered a direct hit on a zinc-roofed structure serving as a central operational facility, resulting in the neutralization of several bandits and the complete destruction of the hideout, as verified by post-strike battle damage assessments.

The subsequent strike on Kachalla Dogo Sule’s Camp destroyed multiple structures, igniting fires that engulfed the facilities and significantly disrupting the bandits' IED production and deployment capabilities. Dozens of bandits were neutralized in the process, further weakening their networks.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, stated: “These air interdiction missions were meticulously planned based on credible multi-source intelligence to degrade the combat capabilities of the bandits and deny them safe havens.

The NAF remains resolute in its commitment to collaborate with other security agencies in sustaining pressure on criminal elements until peace and security are fully restored in the North-West and across Nigeria.”

These operations underscore the Nigerian military's ongoing efforts to combat banditry, terrorism, and other forms of insecurity. The Armed Forces continue to prioritize the safety of citizens and the protection of critical infrastructure, working in synergy with local communities and international partners.
