JetHQ, the American aircraft marketing firm tasked with selling Nigeria's presidential Boeing 737-700 Business Jet, today announced the withdrawal of the aircraft from its sales listings. This decision follows several months of active marketing without securing a buyer.

The Boeing 737-700, acquired by the Nigerian government in 2005 for $43 million under President Olusegun Obasanjo, forms part of the Presidential Air Fleet. Officials refurbished the jet in July 2024, including upgrades to seating and thorough inspections.

President Bola Tinubu's administration placed the aircraft on the market in July 2025 to reduce maintenance costs and optimize the fleet amid economic pressures. Experts valued the jet at approximately $56 million based on its condition and enhancements.

Laurie Barringer, Manager at JetHQ, confirmed the delisting in a statement: "We no longer market the Boeing 737-700 Business Jet. All further inquiries should go directly to the Nigerian government." This move leaves the aircraft's future uncertain, as potential buyers may now pursue private negotiations.

The Nigerian government has not yet commented on the withdrawal. A spokesperson for the National Security Adviser indicated a response is forthcoming but provided no details at this time.

This development underscores challenges in the global aviation market for high-value assets. Nigerians continue to monitor the administration's efforts to manage public resources efficiently.
