Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II Secures Special Admission to Study Law at Northwest University, Kano

Northwest University, Kano proudly announces the special admission of His Royal Highness, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II, into its Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) program in Common Law and Sharia.





The university issued an official admission letter on January 12, 2026.This letter places the Emir at Level 200 in the Faculty of Law. The admission takes effect from the 2024/2025 academic session. Officials granted this opportunity after the Emir satisfied all requirements for special consideration.





Emir Sanusi brings a rich academic background to his studies. He holds a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in Economics from Ahmadu Bello University. 





Additionally, he earned a bachelor's degree in Islamic Studies and Sharia from the International University of Africa in Khartoum.Recently, he completed a PhD in Islamic Law from the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London.






This new pursuit highlights the Emir's commitment to lifelong learning. As a former Central Bank Governor and respected leader, he continues to inspire Nigerians. Moreover, his decision aligns with his advocacy for education and legal reforms in the region.





University Registrar Isyaku Adamu expressed enthusiasm about the admission. "We welcome Emir Sanusi to our institution," he said. "His presence will enrich our academic community and foster deeper discussions on law and society."







Furthermore, this step encourages others to pursue higher education regardless of age or status. The Emir's enrollment bridges traditional leadership with modern scholarship.
