The Government of Pakistan confirms that more than 250 individuals have been killed in a series of coordinated separatist attacks across Balochistan province since Saturday, January 31, 2026.
The attacks, claimed by the banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), targeted civilians, security forces, and infrastructure in multiple districts, resulting in significant loss of life and ongoing clashes.
According to a senior security official, the death toll includes approximately 31 civilians, 22 security personnel, and 197 terrorists eliminated during counter-terrorism operations.
Government forces have launched extensive operations to neutralize remaining threats, with fighting continuing in affected areas. The attacks represent one of the most severe escalations in the region's long-standing separatist insurgency.
"The Government of Pakistan strongly condemns these cowardly acts of terrorism and reaffirms its commitment to eradicating extremism and ensuring the safety of its citizens," stated Major General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Director General of ISPR. "Our security forces are actively pursuing the perpetrators, and we will not rest until peace is restored in Balochistan."
The province has been placed on high alert, with additional reinforcements deployed to protect critical infrastructure, including projects under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). Humanitarian aid is being provided to affected families, and investigations are underway to prevent future incidents.
