The Nigerian Defence Headquarters has issued a
stern and final warning to all remnants of Boko Haram and ISWAP: "Surrender
now or be neutralized." In a massive display of military might, the Joint
Task Force (JTF) North East Operation HADIN KAI has decimated the leadership
hierarchy of the insurgency, proving that there is no longer any hiding place
within the fringes of the Sambisa Forest.
In a high-level press released to journalists on Friday, March 6, 2026, Major General Michael
Onoja, the Director of Defence Media Operations, revealed that the military’s
kinetic campaign has reached a fever pitch. The most devastating blow was dealt
by the Air Component, which executed a precision strike on March 2. The
operation successfully "deleted" senior terrorist ringleaders,
including the notorious Saddam, Saleh Garin Kago, and Ba Alayi Benbem,
alongside a top fighter, Hussaini Ubaida. Intelligence reports further confirm
that a staggering 18 ringleaders and 42 foot soldiers were neutralized in that
single, decisive air-ground integration.
"The era of terrorist impunity is over,"
Major General Onoja declared. "Our troops are not just holding the line;
we are taking the fight to their very doorsteps. Whether they use armed drones
or hide in underground bunkers, our intelligence is superior, and our reach is
absolute."
The ground troops have been equally relentless. On
February 28, soldiers in Bama and Nganzai LGAs of Borno State thwarted
desperate attacks, neutralizing scores of insurgents. In a significant
technological victory, troops intercepted and recovered armed drones, anti-tank
bombs, and IED-manufacturing materials, effectively stripping the terrorists of
their modern tools of terror.
Furthermore, the military has successfully choked
the insurgents' supply lines. Two high-profile collaborators were intercepted
in Biu LGA, leading to the discovery of a secret medical warehouse. In Yobe
State, the syndicate responsible for high-stakes kidnappings is being
dismantled, with key members already in custody confessing to their crimes.
The Defence Headquarters wishes to reassure the
Nigerian public that the Armed Forces remain the shield of the nation. These
recent successes are a testament to the renewed synergy between the AFN and the citizens, fuelled by the unwavering commitment of the Chief of Defence Staff to
restore total peace. To the law-abiding citizens, the DHQ urges continued cooperation;
to the terrorists, the message is clear: your commanders are dead, your
supplies are gone, and the end is near.
The
operation continues as troops remain on high alert, sweeping the North East to
ensure that every kidnapped victim is rescued and the last vestiges of
terrorism are wiped off the Nigerian map.
