Dr. Peter Agada, Finance Director of the Obidient Movement, has officially resigned from his position, pointing to persistent poor coordination, inadequate structural support, and operational inefficiencies within the movement.

In his resignation statement, Dr. Agada expressed deep frustration over the lack of effective communication, resource allocation, and strategic alignment that have hampered the movement’s ability to achieve its short-, medium-, and long-term objectives.

He highlighted how these challenges have made sustained progress increasingly difficult despite the dedication of many grassroots supporters.

“The Obidient Movement was born out of a genuine desire for better governance and accountability in Nigeria,” Dr. Agada said. “However, ongoing issues with coordination and the absence of robust structures have created an environment where meaningful impact is severely limited. After careful reflection, I have concluded that my continued service in this capacity is no longer tenable.”

Dr. Agada’s departure comes amid broader questions about the movement’s organizational strength following recent electoral performances, including underwhelming results in off-cycle polls.

He emphasized that his decision stems from a commitment to transparency and a hope that the movement will address these foundational issues to better serve its vision.

The Obidient Movement, a prominent pro-democracy and reform-oriented network that gained significant traction during the 2023 presidential election cycle in support of former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi, has yet to issue an official response to the resignation.

Supporters and political observers are watching closely to see how the movement’s leadership will respond to calls for improved coordination, clearer governance structures, and stronger operational frameworks moving forward.
