Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, an ordained pastor, is scheduled to deliver a sermon at a service at Lambeth Palace in London on Thursday, March 19, 2026.

This engagement forms part of the official programme for the historic two-day state visit of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the United Kingdom the first by a Nigerian leader in nearly 37 years.

Lambeth Palace, the official London residence of the Archbishop of Canterbury and the historic seat of the Anglican Communion, will host the First Lady for a short Service of Prayer in the Chapel, followed by her preaching.

She is also expected to meet representatives of the Church of England and participate in a reception hosted by the Secretary General of the Anglican Communion, the Rt Revd Anthony Poggo, with faith leaders and representatives from organisations including Christian Aid and the Mothers’ Union.

The state visit, hosted by Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, underscores the deep historical, cultural, and economic ties between Nigeria and the United Kingdom. President Tinubu and First Lady Oluremi Tinubu arrived in London on Tuesday, March 18, and were accorded a ceremonial welcome at Windsor Castle, including a carriage procession and military parade.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu’s preaching at Lambeth Palace highlights the important role of faith in fostering dialogue, unity, and mutual understanding between nations.

As a committed Christian leader, her participation reflects Nigeria’s rich religious diversity and the shared values of compassion, service, and peace that bridge the two countries.
