Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, on Tuesday presented 100 brand new official vehicles to substantive directors on Grade Level 17 in the Lagos State Civil Service.
The presentation took place at a brief ceremony held at the Pavilion, Lagos House, Ikeja. The beneficiaries, all directors on Grade Level 17 across various sectors of the public service, received the vehicles as part of the state government’s continued investment in strengthening institutional capacity, improving governance, and enhancing service delivery.
Governor Sanwo-Olu described the gesture as a deliberate investment in the machinery of governance and a clear demonstration of the administration’s commitment to the welfare of the workforce.
“This presentation of 100 brand new cars to our substantive directors is a deliberate investment in the machinery of governance. It is part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen institutional capacity, improve governance and ensure that those saddled with critical responsibilities are well supported to deliver effectively,” the Governor said.
“We are not just rewarding hard work and years of dedicated service, we are also sending a strong message that commitment, excellence and integrity will always be recognised and rewarded in Lagos State.”
He added: “As government, we have your backs, but this support also comes with greater expectations. You must continue to justify the confidence reposed in you and remain worthy ambassadors of the Lagos State Public Service.”
The Governor congratulated the beneficiaries and urged them to view the vehicles as a call to greater responsibility, accountability, and dedication to public service. He reiterated that the state government remains committed to creating an enabling environment for optimal performance by its workforce, while encouraging other public servants to uphold diligence and loyalty.
The Lagos State Head of Service, Mr. Olabode Agoro, commended Governor Sanwo-Olu for the initiative, describing it as morale-boosting and a testament that hard work and excellence are appreciated in the state.
On behalf of the beneficiaries, Mrs. Shakirat Adeosun thanked the Governor for the gesture, noting that the vehicles would enhance operational efficiency and enable them to discharge their duties with greater ease. She assured the government of the recipients’ continued dedication to implementing state policies and delivering quality service to Lagosians.
The event underscores the Sanwo-Olu administration’s priority on staff welfare as a critical driver of improved productivity and excellent service delivery in the public sector.
