The Honourable Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, has tendered a public apology to Nigerians for the ongoing power outages ravaging homes, businesses, and industries across the country.

In a statement issued following a courtesy visit to the Governor of Kano State, Abba Yusuf, the Minister described the current electricity situation as “very unfortunate” and acknowledged the severe hardships being endured by citizens due to frequent grid instability and inadequate power supply.

“I apologise to all Nigerians for the pains and inconveniences caused by these outages,” Minister Adelabu said. “We understand how disruptive this has been to daily life, economic activities, and overall well-being.”

The Minister attributed the challenges primarily to gas supply shortages, ageing infrastructure, and legacy debts within the power sector. He, however, assured citizens that the administration is implementing urgent interventions to reverse the ugly trend.

“Efforts are already in place to address these issues, and we are beginning to see gradual improvements.

Nigerians should expect better electricity supply in the coming weeks as these measures take full effect,” he added. Chief Adelabu reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration to achieving sustainable and reliable power generation, expressing confidence that the full benefits of ongoing reforms will soon be felt nationwide.

He appealed for continued patience and understanding from Nigerians while the government works assiduously to deliver on its promise of improved electricity supply.
