The Governor of Kano State Abba Yusuf has formally nominated Alhaji Murtal Garo as the new Deputy Governor, marking a significant development in the state’s political landscape. The nomination has been forwarded to the Kano State House of Assembly for screening and confirmation in accordance with constitutional provisions.

In a statement released by the Government House, the Governor described Garo as a seasoned administrator with a proven track record of public service, leadership, and commitment to the development of Kano State. The nomination is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and ensure continuity in the delivery of key government policies and programs.

“Garo’s experience and dedication to public service make him a suitable choice for this critical role. We are confident that his inclusion will further enhance our administration’s capacity to deliver on its mandate to the people of Kano State,” the statement read.

If confirmed by the House of Assembly, Garo is expected to assume office immediately and support the Governor in driving the state’s development agenda, including economic growth, infrastructure expansion, and social welfare initiatives.

Political observers note that the nomination could have broader implications for the state’s political dynamics, as stakeholders await the outcome of the legislative screening process.
