Galatasaray delivered a commanding performance in the fiery Istanbul derby, defeating arch-rivals Fenerbahçe 3-0 at RAMS Park to strengthen their grip on the Turkish Super Lig title.

Victor Osimhen opened the scoring on his return from injury, netting his 20th league goal of the season in the 40th minute with a sharp, improvised finish from a long throw-in. Barış Alper Yılmaz added a second from the penalty spot in the 67th minute, before Lucas Torreira sealed the emphatic victory with a late third goal in the 83rd minute.

The match, played on Matchday 31, was marked by high tension and key incidents. Fenerbahçe missed a golden opportunity early when Anderson Talisca failed to convert a penalty in the 13th minute. Their goalkeeper Ederson was later sent off, further tilting the balance in Galatasaray’s favour.

Osimhen’s clinical strike, assisted by a flick-on from Mario Lemina, gave the hosts a deserved lead at half-time. The Nigerian striker’s goal proved pivotal as Galatasaray maintained control throughout the second half. Yılmaz’s penalty and Torreira’s composed finish in the closing stages capped a dominant display that left Fenerbahçe reeling.

With the win, Galatasaray moved to 74 points from 31 matches, extending their lead over second-placed Fenerbahçe to seven points (67 points). The result leaves the reigning champions well-positioned to secure the title with just a few games remaining in the 2025-26 season.

Quotes: “Today we showed our strength and character in a big derby. The team fought hard, and the fans were incredible as always. This is a big step towards our goal,” said Galatasaray manager after the match.

Victor Osimhen, who made a strong return from injury, added: “It feels great to score in such an important game. The team played brilliantly, and I’m happy to contribute.

The victory not only boosts Galatasaray’s title hopes but also highlights the impressive form of key players like Osimhen, Yılmaz, and Torreira, who have been instrumental in the team’s campaign.
