President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared his intention to run for a second term in the 2027 presidential election, firmly stating that rising insecurity across parts of the country will not force him out of office or derail his administration.

In a video message that has gone viral, President Tinubu addressed concerns over security challenges head-on, accusing certain elements of exploiting the situation to undermine his leadership.

“You are playing into the hands of agents, including my own enemies, who want to use insecurity to get rid of me,” the President said. He described himself as “a very stubborn politician” who refuses to be pushed out, adding: “I just refuse to go. And I will campaign for my second term. I will work.”

The President’s remarks come amid ongoing discussions about security in various regions of Nigeria. He maintained that his administration remains committed to tackling insecurity while advancing economic reforms and development initiatives aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.

President Tinubu emphasized his resilience and determination to continue leading the country, dismissing attempts to intimidate or destabilize his government through amplified narratives around security issues.

“I won’t be forced out,” he insisted, signaling strong resolve as Nigeria approaches the next electoral cycle.

The Presidency reiterated that efforts to strengthen national security, enhance intelligence capabilities, and foster international cooperation on counter-terrorism and anti-banditry operations are being intensified.
