As part of efforts to support vulnerable Nigerians during the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir celebration, the First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has commenced the distribution of thousands of bags of rice and other food items worth over ₦1.2 billion as palliatives across the country.

The initiative, being coordinated through the Renewed Hope Initiative and in collaboration with various stakeholders, aims to ease the burden of the current economic challenges on less privileged households, widows, orphans, persons with disabilities, and other vulnerable groups during this sacred period of sacrifice and sharing.

Senator Oluremi Tinubu stated that the gesture is a demonstration of the compassion and people-centred commitment of the Tinubu administration. “Eid-el-Kabir is a time of sacrifice, love, and care for one another.

In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, we are reaching out to our fellow citizens to ensure that no family is left behind in the spirit of celebration,” she said.

The ₦1.2 billion palliative package includes large quantities of premium rice, other essential food commodities, and direct financial support targeted at the most needy across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.

Distribution has already begun in several states, with plans to scale up in the coming days to cover more communities.

The First Lady urged all well-meaning Nigerians, philanthropists, corporate organisations, and faith-based groups to complement government efforts by extending kindness and support to the less privileged during this festive season.

This intervention reaffirms the Federal Government’s dedication to the welfare of all Nigerians and its resolve to mitigate the impact of economic reforms while building a more inclusive and prosperous nation.
