The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) bloc aligned with the Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Chief Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has expressed deep anger and disappointment over credible reports that the Governor of Bauchi State is actively planning to defect to the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Describing the move as “a shameful act of betrayal and political prostitution,” the Wike PDP Bloc condemned the Bauchi Governor’s alleged decision as a direct assault on the unity and integrity of the PDP, especially at a time when the party is consolidating its structures ahead of future electoral battles.

In a strongly worded statement issued Tuesday night, the Bloc stated:

“We are shocked and saddened that a governor who benefited immensely from the PDP platform would contemplate abandoning the party in such a reckless manner.

This is not just a personal decision; it is a calculated attempt to weaken the PDP in the North-East and undermine the collective efforts of loyal party leaders who have sacrificed everything to keep the party alive. We will not fold our hands and watch while renegades sell out the party for personal ambition.”

The Bloc further warned that any governor or leader contemplating defection should know that the PDP under the Wike influence remains resolute and will not tolerate acts of disloyalty. It called on all genuine PDP members in Bauchi State and across the country to reject any attempt to drag the party into crisis through back-door alliances.

The statement added: “The PDP is not a hotel where people check in and check out at will. Those who want to leave should leave with dignity instead of plotting in the dark. The Wike PDP Bloc remains committed to rebuilding a strong, united, and formidable PDP that will reclaim power and rescue Nigeria from bad governance.”

The Bloc urged the people of Bauchi State to hold their governor accountable and reject any attempt to mortgage the future of the state on the altar of political expediency.
