The Lagos State University of Science and Technology (LASUSTECH) has signed a historic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with SGH Warsaw School of Economics, one of Europe’s most prestigious business schools and Poland’s oldest institution of its kind.
The agreement was formally signed on Monday, May 11, 2026, at the SGH campus in Warsaw, Poland. LASUSTECH Vice-Chancellor, Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya, signed on behalf of the Nigerian institution, while SGH Rector, Professor Piotr Wachowiak, signed for the Polish university.
This partnership establishes a comprehensive framework for academic and research collaboration, aiming to internationalise LASUSTECH’s programmes and provide students and faculty with access to global opportunities.
Key areas of cooperation include:
Student and staff exchange programmes
Joint research initiatives and publications
Visiting lectureships and faculty development
Curriculum enhancement and knowledge sharing in economics, business, science, and technology-related fields
Professor Olumuyiwa Odusanya described the MoU as a significant milestone in LASUSTECH’s internationalisation journey, noting that it positions the university among the global elite and opens structured pathways to European academia, research funding, and student mobility.
“SGH Warsaw School of Economics is renowned for academic excellence and strong industry linkages. This collaboration will equip our students and faculty with world-class exposure while fostering innovative solutions to shared global challenges,” he added.
The Rector of SGH Warsaw School of Economics, Professor Piotr Wachowiak, welcomed the partnership, expressing confidence that the alliance would yield mutually beneficial outcomes in research and academic development.
