Renowned economist and presidential aspirant, Mohammed Hayatu-Deen, has officially picked the Expression of Interest and Nomination forms of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 presidential election.
Hayatu-Deen, who became the first aspirant to obtain the N100 million ADC presidential forms, received them from the party’s National Organising Secretary, Prince Chinedu Idigo, at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
In a statement issued by his Media Unit shortly after collecting the forms, Hayatu-Deen pledged to tackle the pressing challenges facing Nigerians, particularly insecurity, job creation, and the high cost of living.
“Nigerians are tired of living in fear. They are tired of watching businesses struggle, jobs disappear, and the cost of basic necessities rise beyond what ordinary people can afford,” Hayatu-Deen said.
“This election cannot be about politics as usual. It must be about how to secure our communities, rebuild confidence in the economy, create jobs at scale, and make life more affordable for millions of Nigerians.
We cannot build prosperity in an atmosphere of fear and instability. Security is the foundation upon which every strong economy is built.”
The ADC presidential hopeful, who has decades of experience in business, finance, and economic policy, promised to implement practical policies that will lower the cost of doing business, empower small and medium enterprises, create opportunities for the youth, and drive inclusive economic growth across the country.
“I have spent decades helping businesses grow and supporting the creation of jobs. I understand what it takes to build institutions, unlock investment, and create opportunities at scale. Nigeria has the talent and potential to succeed, but we need disciplined leadership and serious execution. This is why I am putting my best foot forward,” he added.
Supporters of the aspirant described the early move as a strong indication of growing momentum for his candidacy within the ADC.
The African Democratic Congress has scheduled the sale of Expression of Interest and Nomination forms from May 6 to May 13, 2026.
