The high-energy celebration will take place at the Los Angeles Stadium on Friday, June 12, 2026, marking a historic moment as the tournament launches across three host nations.

This marks the first time in FIFA World Cup history that three separate opening ceremonies will be held in Mexico City on June 11, Toronto on June 12, and Los Angeles on June 12 to celebrate the united hosting by Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

“Global superstars Katy Perry, Future, Anitta, LISA, Rema and Tyla will headline the celebrations in Los Angeles, with additional world-renowned artists still to be announced,” FIFA stated.

The ceremony, produced in partnership with Balich Wonder Studio, will feature large-scale visuals, immersive storytelling, and live performances centered around the FIFA World Cup Trophy. It will begin 90 minutes before kick-off, promising fans a unforgettable fusion of football, music, and entertainment.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino said:

“This opening ceremony in Los Angeles represents the extraordinary scale of what the FIFA World Cup 2026 will become. The lineup of artists reflects the cultural diversity of the United States and the vibrancy of its many diasporas… while showcasing the power of music to bring people together across the country.”

Nigerian music fans and the African continent are expected to celebrate Rema and Tyla’s selection, highlighting the growing global influence of Afrobeats and Amapiano on the world stage.

The 2026 FIFA World Cup will feature a record 104 matches across 16 host cities, beginning on June 11, 2026, in Mexico City and culminating with the final on July 19, 2026, at the New York New Jersey Stadium.
