President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on all Nigerians to pray for bandits and terrorists to rethink their actions, abandon their evil ways, and embrace peace, while assuring citizens that the government remains resolute in defeating insecurity across the country.

In his Eid-el-Kabir message issued on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, President Tinubu acknowledged the persistent challenges of insecurity despite significant efforts by security agencies. He noted recent successes, including the elimination of a wanted ISIS leader, but admitted that heartless terrorists and bandits continue to attack some communities.

“I assure you: you are neither abandoned nor forgotten. We will ultimately defeat all the forces of evil,” the President stated.

He further urged Nigerians: “Let us pray that those who commit crimes among us may rethink and abandon their evil ways, or face the full weight of the law.”

President Tinubu emphasized that while military and intelligence operations are ongoing, spiritual support, national unity, and collective prayers are vital in the fight against criminality. He warned that those who refuse to repent will face justice.

The President’s message comes as Muslims across Nigeria celebrate Eid-el-Kabir, with a strong call for reflection, peace, and solidarity in tackling national challenges.
