President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, accompanied by the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, today exercised their voting rights at Ward L2 (Ireti Primary School), Ikoyi, Lagos State, as the All Progressives Congress (APC) commenced its nationwide presidential primary elections ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The President and First Lady arrived at the polling unit amid strong local support, casting their votes in a demonstration of commitment to internal party democracy and grassroots participation. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State was also present to witness the exercise.
In a show of overwhelming support, President Tinubu secured a landslide victory in his ward, polling 4,996 votes out of the total votes cast. His sole challenger in the ward, Stanley Osifo, received zero votes.
Speaking after voting, the President commended the APC for organizing a transparent and credible direct primary process across Nigeria’s wards, describing it as a true reflection of internal democracy within the party.
The APC presidential primary is being held simultaneously in wards across the country, allowing party members at the grassroots level to directly elect the standard bearer for the 2027 presidential election.
