Global Afrobeats icon Davido has issued a passionate call to action, urging all Nigerians and his fellow entertainer Dauda Kahutu Rarara to speak out boldly against the escalating insecurity crisis ravaging the country instead of staying silent. The message comes in direct response to Rarara’s criticism of Davido’s recent public advocacy for abducted schoolchildren.

The exchange stemmed from Davido’s recent appearance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup countdown concert in Los Angeles, where he wore a custom jacket highlighting the names of abducted schoolchildren from Oyo State to draw global attention to the plight of victims. Rarara, a prominent Hausa singer and political praise singer, had criticized the move as damaging to Nigeria’s image.

In his response, Davido stated: “Damn it, every Nigerian should not stay silent about the insecurity plaguing the nation, nor should they prevent others from voicing their concerns openly. Be a patriot for your country, stop prioritizing politics over the truth, and fear God in everything you do.”

Davido stressed that silence, political bias, and placing personal or partisan interests above national welfare only exacerbate the security challenges affecting agriculture, education, communities, and the nation’s overall progress. He called on all citizens and influencers to prioritize compassion, truth, and collective action over defensiveness.

This public stance has ignited widespread conversations on social media and across Nigeria, with many applauding Davido for using his platform to advocate for victims and others debating the best approaches to addressing insecurity without harming the country’s international image.

“As a proud Nigerian, I will continue to use my voice and influence to highlight these issues until our children can learn in safety and our people live without fear,” Davido affirmed.
