Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reaffirmed his administration’s strong commitment to youth development, declaring that the state government will intensify efforts to empower more young entrepreneurs and strengthen business activities across the state.

Speaking on the vision for the state’s youth, Governor Adeleke emphasized that turning young people into job creators rather than job seekers remains a top priority. His administration is focused on equipping youths with the skills, resources, and opportunities needed to thrive in entrepreneurship, innovation, and the digital economy.

“Our youths are the future of Osun State. We are committed to empowering them through targeted programmes, start-up grants, skills training, and access to business support services,” the Governor stated. “By investing in our young entrepreneurs, we are building a prosperous, self-reliant, and economically vibrant Osun.”

The Governor’s remarks align with several ongoing initiatives, including the Imole Business Empowerment Scheme, which has provided thousands of youths and women with Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals, start-up grants, and free Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) business registration certificates. Additional programmes feature partnerships with agencies like SMEDAN, BOI, and financial institutions to support youth-led businesses.

These efforts form part of a broader strategy that includes the Imole Youth Corps, technology hubs, creative industry training, and agropreneurship programmes designed to create sustainable employment and foster innovation.

Governor Adeleke urged young people in the state to take advantage of these opportunities, develop viable business ideas, and contribute to Osun’s economic growth. He assured that more empowerment programmes are in the pipeline to reach even more beneficiaries across all local government areas.
