The University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) has announced that 120 students will graduate with First Class Honours as the institution confers degrees on a total of 8,156 graduands during its ongoing convocation ceremonies.
This milestone highlights the university’s continued commitment to academic excellence and the production of high-quality graduates equipped to drive national development.
According to university officials, out of the 8,156 graduands, 5,822 will receive first-degree certificates, while the remaining will be awarded various postgraduate qualifications, including 510 Postgraduate Diplomas and 1,386 Master’s degrees.
The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Port Harcourt, in his address, congratulated the graduands, particularly the First Class honorees, for their outstanding academic achievements despite various challenges. He described the results as a reflection of the institution’s rigorous academic standards and the dedication of both students and faculty.
“We are extremely proud of these 120 First Class graduates. Their exceptional performance is a testament to hard work, resilience, and the high quality of teaching and research at UNIPORT. We are confident they will go on to make significant contributions to Nigeria and the global community,” the Vice-Chancellor stated.
The convocation activities, which include lectures, award presentations, and degree conferments, are designed to celebrate the achievements of the Class of 2026 while reinforcing the university’s role as a leading institution in the Niger Delta region and Nigeria at large.
