President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Monday held a closed-door meeting with Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, and former Governor Senator Gabriel Suswam at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

The high-level meeting comes amid escalating political tensions and crisis within the Benue State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), particularly concerning issues around party unity, leadership, and the senatorial ticket in the state.

Sources indicate that the discussions focused on resolving ongoing intra-party rifts, fostering reconciliation, and ensuring stability in Benue State ahead of future electoral cycles. President Tinubu is said to be personally intervening to promote unity and address grievances among key stakeholders.

Governor Alia and Senator Suswam arrived at the State House for the crucial talks, which are part of broader efforts by the Presidency to strengthen the APC in the North-Central region and maintain peace and good governance in Benue State.
