The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, has declared that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu deserves to remain in office for a long time, describing him as a working leader who is president of all Nigerians rather than a partisan figure.
Speaking on Monday at the flag-off ceremony for the dualisation of the Ibadan-Ijebu Road in Ogun State, the monarch emphasised that the event was not a political rally but an opportunity to thank the President for making the road project possible.
“I’ve been hearing everybody talking APC, APC. Bola Tinubu is not an APC man, no. Bola Tinubu is working and deserves to be president for a long, long time,” Oba Ladoja said.
He added: “This is not an APC rally. It is a rally that we are here to thank Mr President for making this road project possible.”
The Olubadan stressed that Tinubu’s performance transcends party affiliation. “He deserves more than being an APC president. He’s not an APC president. He’s president of Nigeria,” he stated.
Oba Ladoja noted that the President’s record in office is likely to benefit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in future elections, while acknowledging the presence of opposition parties. “The only thing I can look at is that his performance is likely to help the APC win elections. So, we are not discounting the performance of Mr President at all. We believe he deserves a long tenure, even though other parties are scrambling to say they are there when they are not visible.”
The remarks come as the Tinubu administration continues infrastructure projects across the South-West, including major road dualisation works aimed at improving connectivity between Oyo and Ogun States.
Oba Ladoja, a former Governor of Oyo State who ascended the throne as the 44th Olubadan in September 2025, has previously expressed confidence in the President’s leadership, citing Tinubu’s transformative record as Governor of Lagos State and ongoing efforts to address economic and security challenges.
