Nigerian Afrobeats star Burna Boy and Colombian singer Shakira have achieved a major streaming landmark as the official music video for their collaborative track “Dai Dai” crossed one billion views on Shakira’s YouTube channel.
The video, released on May 23, 2026, now stands at more than 1,000,951,637 views and has collected 7.8 million likes. It became the first music video released in 2026 to enter the billion-views club.
“Dai Dai” was selected as the Official Song of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The track blends Shakira’s Latin-pop style with Burna Boy’s Afrobeats sound and formed part of the official tournament album that also featured contributions from Davido, Ayra Starr and Rema.
The artists performed the song at the World Cup opening ceremony in Mexico City and during the final halftime show. Royalties from the track support the FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund.
The achievement marks Shakira’s tenth music video to reach one billion views on the platform and further expands Burna Boy’s international profile while underscoring the global reach of Nigerian Afrobeats.
