The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Musa (retd.), has endorsed the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani, ahead of the 2027 general elections.
Musa made the endorsement on Friday during a meeting in Kaduna with local government coordinators of GCG Musawah 4 PBAT 2027, a political mobilisation structure supporting the re-election of the President and the Kaduna governor.
The gathering brought together the group’s leadership, coordinators from all 23 local government areas of Kaduna State, and representatives of more than 300 affiliated support and interest groups. According to a statement by the group’s secretary, James Swam, the minister used the occasion to interact with the mobilisers and urge them to intensify grassroots efforts.
Addressing the participants, Musa stressed the need for collective commitment to building a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria.
“I will continue to work hard for Nigeria to succeed,” the minister said. “We should remain determined to build this country because together we are stronger as a nation.”
He emphasised the importance of religious tolerance, national unity and peaceful coexistence, drawing from his childhood experiences in Sokoto.
“I grew up in Sokoto; there is no way I can object to any religion,” Musa stated. He recalled participating in Sallah celebrations with Muslim friends and neighbours as a child, noting that children like him would hold the ram during the festivities.
Musa further noted that Nigeria is endowed with enormous human and material resources capable of transforming the country if citizens remain united and committed to national development.
“God put us in Nigeria to build this country, and we have the capacity to do it, both in human and material resources,” he added.
The minister urged members of the group and other Nigerians to regard nation-building as a collective responsibility, stressing that progress would require unity, determination and commitment to the national interest.
The meeting reinforced the political objectives of GCG Musawah 4 PBAT 2027, which has established grassroots structures across Kaduna State in support of the Tinubu and Uba Sani administrations ahead of the 2027 polls.
The national coordinator of the movement, Amb. Polycarp Gankon, thanked the minister for his support and engagement with the coordinators and affiliated organisations.
