In a bold and unified call for party cohesion, the Forum of Zonal Youth Leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has issued a communique urging the National Working Committee (NWC) and all stakeholders to prioritize reconciliation and inclusivity ahead of the party’s upcoming national convention scheduled for November 15–16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Speaking after a strategic meeting held on Saturday, Comrade Seyi Bamidele, Chairman of the Forum, emphasized the urgent need to harmonize interests across all zones and resolve lingering internal disputes. “We call for total reconciliation of all warring factions within the party and demand unity across every ward, zone, and state. The PDP must present a united front to remain a credible alternative for Nigerians,” Bamidele stated.
The youth leaders also appealed to the NWC to conclude all outstanding congresses across the zones to ensure a smooth and hitch-free convention. They stressed that youth inclusion in both Northern and Southern political strategies is essential for the party’s long-term success.
The Forum commended the leadership of Ambassador Ilya Damagum and Senator Samuel Anyanwu for their resilience and commitment to party stability. They also acknowledged the reconciliation efforts of PDP Governors and elder statesmen including H.E. Bukola Saraki and H.E. Ibrahim Dankwambo.
As the PDP prepares for its national convention, youth leaders reaffirmed their belief in the party’s capacity to rescue Nigeria from its current economic and political challenges. “We urge Nigerian youths to remain steadfast. The PDP remains the only viable opposition party capable of delivering real change,” the communique concluded.
