The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, proudly joined the Body of Benchers’ procession today at the Nigerian Law School, Abuja, to celebrate a significant family milestone—his son, Jordan Wike, being formally called to the Nigerian Bar.
The ceremony, held under the auspices of the Body of Benchers, marked the official induction of thousands of law graduates into the legal profession as barristers and solicitors of the Supreme Court of Nigeria. Among them was Jordan Wike, who now follows in the distinguished legal footsteps of his parents.
Minister Wike, a seasoned lawyer and former Governor of Rivers State, was accompanied by his wife, Justice Eberechi Suzzette Wike of the Court of Appeal. The couple beamed with pride as they walked alongside their son during the ceremonial procession, a moment captured in a series of heartwarming photographs shared by Wike’s media aide, Lere Olayinka.
Jordan, 25, graduated with a Second Class Upper in Law from the University of Exeter in 2022 and recently completed his Master of Laws (LLM) at Queen Mary University of London. His academic achievements and successful completion of the Nigerian Law School program culminated in today’s celebration.
The Call to Bar ceremony remains a pivotal tradition in Nigeria’s legal system, symbolizing the transition from student to practitioner. This year’s event drew dignitaries, legal luminaries, and proud families from across the country.
