In a powerful call to the international community, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, urged world leaders to reject double standards and take decisive action to hold Israel accountable for its escalating military aggression and humanitarian violations in Gaza and beyond.

Speaking ahead of an emergency Arab-Islamic summit convened in Doha, Sheikh Mohammed condemned the recent Israeli strike on Hamas members within Qatari territory—a move he described as a “dangerous precedent” and a blatant disregard for international norms and sovereignty. The attack, which has drawn widespread condemnation, including from President Donald Trump, has intensified calls for a unified global response.

“The time has come for the international community to stop using double standards and to punish Israel for all the crimes it has committed,” Sheikh Mohammed stated during a preparatory meeting. “What is encouraging Israel to continue... is the silence, the inability of the international community to hold it accountable.”

The summit, which brings together leaders from across the Arab and Islamic world—including Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas—is expected to produce a draft resolution condemning the Israeli attack and calling for concrete measures to protect regional sovereignty and Palestinian rights.

Qatar, which hosts the largest U.S. military base in the region and plays a key mediation role in the Israel-Hamas conflict, emphasized its commitment to peace and justice. Sheikh Mohammed reaffirmed that Israel’s “war of extermination” against Palestinians would not succeed and warned that continued inaction by the global community would only embolden further violations.
