Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has once again etched her name into culinary history as Guinness World Records (GWR) officially confirmed her achievement for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing an astonishing 8,780 kilograms (19,356 lb 9 oz).

The record-breaking feat was accomplished on September 12, 2025, during the vibrant Gino World Jollof Festival held at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos. The event drew thousands of enthusiastic supporters, celebrities, and dignitaries, transforming the venue into a carnival of culture, flavor, and national pride.

In a heartfelt statement shared on social media, Hilda reflected on the moment Guinness World Records confirmed her success: “This achievement belongs to every Nigerian who stood by me. It was more than cooking—it was a celebration of our culture, our resilience, and our love for jollof rice. I’m honored to represent Nigeria on the global stage once again.”

This marks Hilda’s second Guinness World Record, following her 2023 recognition for the longest individual cooking marathon. Though that title was later surpassed, her return to the record books reaffirms her status as a trailblazer in African cuisine.

The event saw appearances from Nollywood icon Funke Akindele, influencer Enioluwa Adeoluwa, and Ogun State First Lady Bamidele Abiodun, among others, all rallying behind Hilda’s historic endeavor.
